Saved Payment Methods
Saved payment methods are credit cards and bank accounts stored securely on a family’s account. Once saved, they can be used for future payments and Autopay without the family needing to re-enter their details each time.
Where to Find Saved Payment Methods
Section titled “Where to Find Saved Payment Methods”Open a family’s detail page and scroll to the Payment Methods section. You will see all of the family’s saved cards and bank accounts displayed as cards, each showing:
- The card brand (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.) or “Bank Account”
- The last four digits of the card or account number
- The expiration date (for credit cards)
- Whether it is the default payment method (marked with a star or badge)
Adding a Payment Method
Section titled “Adding a Payment Method”You can save a new credit card or bank account from the family’s detail page:
Adding a Credit Card
Section titled “Adding a Credit Card”- Go to the family’s detail page.
- Scroll to the Payment Methods section.
- Click Add Card.
- Enter the card number, expiration date, and CVV in the secure form.
- Optionally check Set as default to make this the primary payment method.
- Click Save.
The card details are encrypted and stored securely with the payment processor — Campflow never stores full card numbers.
Adding a Bank Account (ACH)
Section titled “Adding a Bank Account (ACH)”- Go to the family’s detail page.
- Scroll to the Payment Methods section.
- Click Add Bank Account.
- Enter the routing number (9 digits), account number, and account holder name.
- Optionally check Set as default.
- Click Save.
When Parents Save Their Own
Section titled “When Parents Save Their Own”Parents can also save their payment methods when they:
- Make a payment through the registration form
- Make a payment on their payment page
- Enroll in a payment plan
If the camp has payment method saving enabled, the parent’s card or bank account is saved automatically when they make an online payment (unless they choose not to save it).
The Default Payment Method
Section titled “The Default Payment Method”Each family can have one default payment method. This is the card or bank account that Autopay will use first when charging scheduled payments. When a family has only one saved payment method, it is automatically set as the default.
Changing the Default
Section titled “Changing the Default”- Go to the family’s detail page.
- Find the payment method you want to make the default.
- Click Make Default on that card.
The previous default is automatically unset.
Editing a Payment Method
Section titled “Editing a Payment Method”You can update the expiration date on a saved credit card:
- Go to the family’s detail page.
- Click the Edit button on the card you want to update.
- Enter the new expiration month and year.
- Click Save.
Bank accounts cannot be edited — if the details change, delete the old one and add a new one.
Deleting a Payment Method
Section titled “Deleting a Payment Method”- Go to the family’s detail page.
- Click the Delete button on the card or bank account.
- Confirm the deletion.
If the payment method is being used by an active or paused Autopay schedule, you will not be able to delete it. Update the Autopay schedule to use a different payment method first, or cancel the schedule.
If the payment method was used by past (completed or cancelled) Autopay schedules, those schedule records will be cleaned up automatically.
Expired Cards
Section titled “Expired Cards”Credit cards that have passed their expiration date are flagged as expired. Expired cards:
- Cannot be used for new payments
- Will not appear as options when setting up Autopay
- Will cause Autopay payments to fail if they are still set as the primary method
When a card is about to expire, update the expiration date to keep payments running smoothly.
Good to Know
Section titled “Good to Know”- Card numbers and bank account details are stored securely with the payment processor, not in Campflow. Campflow only stores the last four digits for display purposes.
- When a family’s first payment method is saved, it is automatically set as the default.
- Deleting a payment method is permanent — you cannot undo it. The family would need to save the card or account again.
- Payment methods are shared across all seasons for a family. You do not need to re-save them when a new season starts.
