Scheduling Broadcasts
Instead of sending a broadcast right away, you can schedule it to go out at a specific date and time. This is useful for sending messages during business hours, timing reminders before events, or preparing broadcasts in advance.
How to Schedule a Broadcast
Section titled “How to Schedule a Broadcast”- Create your broadcast as usual — choose the type, recipients, and write your message.
- In the Send bar at the bottom of the page, click Schedule (next to the Send Now button). A date and time field appears.
- Choose the date and time you want the broadcast to go out. Times are in Eastern Time (ET) and must be in the future.
- Click Schedule to confirm.
The broadcast gets a Scheduled badge, and the message will be sent automatically at the time you chose. The person who scheduled it receives an email once it has been sent.
Editing or Canceling a Scheduled Broadcast
Section titled “Editing or Canceling a Scheduled Broadcast”If you need to make changes or cancel a scheduled broadcast:
- Go to the Broadcasts page.
- Find and click on the scheduled broadcast (look for the Scheduled badge).
- Make any changes you need to the content or recipients.
- To change the scheduled time, update the date and time and click Schedule again.
- To cancel the schedule and return the broadcast to a draft, click Cancel Schedule and confirm.
Canceling a schedule does not delete the broadcast — it just returns it to draft status so it won’t send automatically. You can then edit it further or send it manually when you’re ready.
Scheduling a Message to One Family
Section titled “Scheduling a Message to One Family”You can also schedule a quick message to a single family. On the family’s Communication tab, compose an SMS or email and choose a date and time instead of sending it right away. It goes out automatically at the time you picked, just like a scheduled broadcast.
Good to Know
Section titled “Good to Know”- Scheduled times are displayed in Eastern Time (ET).
- We check for scheduled broadcasts every minute, so your message will go out very close to the time you chose.
- The person who scheduled the broadcast gets an email confirmation once it sends.
- You can schedule any broadcast type — email, SMS, or voice.
