Setting Up SMS & Voice

Before you can send SMS or voice broadcasts, you need to complete a one-time setup process. This involves registering your business with phone carriers and getting a dedicated phone number for your camp. Email broadcasts don’t require any setup.

Go to Settings in the sidebar, then click Communication.

You’ll see a progress bar with four steps:

Fill in your camp’s legal business information:

  1. Select your Company Type (LLC, Corporation, Non-Profit, etc.).
  2. Enter the Legal Owner’s First and Last Name.
  3. Enter your business Street Address, City, State, ZIP Code, and Country.
  4. Enter a Contact Email and Contact Phone for your organization.
  5. Click Save Business Details.

This information is required by phone carriers to verify your organization and prevent spam.

After you submit your business details, the phone carriers will review and verify your organization. This process is called brand verification.

  • Verification typically takes a few business days, but can sometimes take longer.
  • You’ll see the status update on this page as it progresses.
  • If verification fails, you’ll be able to update your business details and resubmit.

You don’t need to do anything during this step — just wait for the verification to complete.

Once your brand is verified, the carriers will approve your messaging campaign. This confirms that your organization is authorized to send SMS and voice messages. This step happens automatically after brand verification.

Once approved, your camp will be assigned a dedicated phone number. You’ll see it in the Phone Numbers section at the bottom of the page. All your SMS and voice broadcasts will be sent from this number.

Once setup is complete:

  • SMS and Voice Call options will become available when creating broadcasts.
  • Your camp’s phone number will appear in the Phone Numbers section on the Communication Settings page.
  • Parents who receive your messages can reply to or call back this number.
  • The setup process only needs to be done once. After that, you can send SMS and voice broadcasts freely.
  • Your phone number is dedicated to your camp — no other organization shares it.
  • If you need to update your business details after setup (e.g., your organization’s address changed), you can edit them on this page.
  • Phone number costs are included in your Campflow plan. SMS and voice message costs are charged per message. See Broadcast Costs for pricing.
